Abstract

A comparative study of the effectiveness of treatment of 342 patients with surgical hand infection and type 1 diabetes mellitus after surgery using traditional methods and kinesio taping was conducted. The results showed that the use of kinesio taping promotes rapid wound healing, reduces the period of hospitalization and improves the general condition of patients. The kinesiotaping technique in the early postoperative period effectively copes with swelling, pain, improves microcirculation and lymph outflow, which has a beneficial effect on the course of the wound process. The use of kinesiotapes makes it possible to create “soft” immobilization, early initiation of rehabilitation, and reduce trauma to the postoperative wound during dressings. There is a reduction in the average time patients spend in a medical facility (from 16 to 9 days) and an acceleration in their adaptation to everyday activities.
